Dr. Samson G. Simon is a Nigerian economist, policy analyst, and academic with nearly two decades of experience spanning macroeconomic research, public policy advocacy, and higher education. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Abuja, along with an M.Sc. and B.Sc. in the same field, and is a Certified Public Leadership and Policy professional (CPLP) through the School of Politics, Policy and Governance (SPPG). Currently a Research Fellow Consultant at Macrostrat, Dr. Simon serves as a technical bridge between advanced macroeconomic theory and applied research for corporate, public, and third-sector clients, designing mixed-method research frameworks and presenting strategic policy options to government bodies, international partners, and corporate boards. He previously spent over fifteen years as Chief Economist at ARKK Economics & Data Limited, where he led program design, advocacy consultancy, and economic intelligence work for public and private organisations, and served as Research & Advocacy Manager at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), where he led public-private dialogue initiatives between government agencies and the MSME sector. Dr. Simon has lectured at Baze University, Abuja, and has held visiting senior lectureship positions at Iconic Open University (Sokoto) and ANAN University Business School (Jos), where he supervises Doctor of Business Administration theses, and has taught at Philomath University and Prime University, both in Abuja. A prominent voice in Nigerian public affairs, he is a regular economic analyst on national television — including NTA, Channels TV, AIT, TrustTV, News Central TV, and WION International — and a published commentator in BusinessDay, Daily Trust, Leadership, and The Nation, where he writes on subnational budgets, inflation, food security, and macroeconomic policy. He is the founder and CEO of the Brighter Tangale-Waja Youth Forum (BETAWAYOF), a grassroots youth and economic empowerment initiative, and holds professional memberships with the Nigerian Economic Society (NES), the Royal Economic Society (RES), and the American Economic Association (AEA).
