Chief Steven Lawani is a renowned private and public sector manager, management expert and businessman, and politician. He who doubles as the Strategy, Infrastructure, & Public Policy Advisor. Chief Lawani holds a B.Sc. (Hons) Economics degree from ABU Zaria, Advanced Diploma in Hotel Management, Manchester Polytechnic, Manchester, UK, as well as Diploma in Management Development at Cambridge University, Cambridge, UK. He is a Fellow of the Nigeria Hotels and Catering Institute and Nigeria Institute of Economics. His public service career is headlined by his service as a Deputy Governor of Benue State; an elected Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria; Deputy National Chairman of the defunct National Republican Convention (NRC); Chairman, Savanna Bank Plc and Manufacturers Merchant Bank Limited; Managing Director and later Chairman, Nigeria Hotels Board; and Chairman, Aluminum Smelter Company of Nigeria (ALSCON);. Chief Lawani is a major estate developer and serves as Chairman/CEO of Abuja Land Development (ALD) Limited. He also runs international franchises in Nigeria, and has a major stake in one of the leading Nigerian banks.
